Conservative Evangelical Christian Kicks Mormon Ass: Perry v. Romney

We know we’re over a year away form the most hyped and discussed election of the twenty first century “Capital Run 2012″, but the Iowa straw poll drop out and former front runner Mitt Romney has slipped and tipped his crown to Texas Governor Rick Perry. Only two weeks after declaring he wanted to run the United States like the former country of Texas, Rick “I’m not a dick” Perry has jumped ahead of Republican favorite and perfect haired Mitt Romney. Maybe it’s the religion thing… recent polls indicated that only 14% of Americans would vote for a Mormon while mover 86% indicated they would cast a vote for a Christian. So much for freedom of religion.
What’s next? Muslims in the White House – oh, wait… um…. no wait, he says he’s a Christian. Obama the Christian who goes to church on required holidays (Easter, Christmas, Ramadan) and when asked about your beliefs you say “I Pray Every Day!” you just don’t have to say to whom. So what ‘s wrong with a Mormon for President? These days you might as well say Muslim for President. It can work for some, so why not for others? We know we have the Republican/Libertarian party claiming conservative and ultra religious supremacy who drag grass roots rednecks and down home white trash bigots to the voting booths. Don’t convert the youth – Hitler and the Nazi party did that, so go for the base that can believe the bullshit they don’t know better or are so far against your opponent you don’t have to do anything to persuade them you’re the man. If you’re against blacks, then you vote for the white guy and complain because you didn’t win. Yep, that’s just how we do it ’round here.
So what happened to Michelle Bachmann? Is she sitting back and waiting to be picked as the Vice President? What about Sarah Palin? What about Ron Paul? Now let’s get real… who’s really voting for Ron Paul? We all know he’s just going to take votes away from anyone who is the front runner and since we have no ‘real’ viable third party since the Tea Party joined the Right Wing Republicans what is your choice? I guess we’ll continue to see who wants to jump in, raise the American flag and proclaim “I AM THE NEXT SAVIOR OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!” Good for you…

Obama’s Libyan Lies: Open Mouth… Insert Foot

Nothing like jumping the gun when supporting a coup and government take-over, but that seems to be exactly what has happened with Obama. While on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard the beloved president decided ti was time to say what he thought was the state of the Libyan regime… oops! So the Libyan regime is on the verge of collapse? Maybe it was a bit too soon to be touting the collapse of Gadafi and the Tripoli. Oops…. Rebels who decided to siege the city didn’t quite get the victory they thought they had. Other wold leaders kept their mouths shut and were short to claim victory in the world stage and tout themselves as part of the overthrow. Ouch. But the fight is still going and it’s hard to back-track on a statement that makes everything look like its over when it really isn’t. It’s like the 2000 presidential election and the 1950′s presidential declaration of victory in the elections. The news since then has vowed to get it right and check facts and make sure what they were saying was indeed fact. Oooops!
So why haven’t the presidential hopefuls jumped on the bandwagon and started to declare themselves victorious? Again, just like the debt ceiling debate, the presidential wanna-be’s hold tight lipped instead of really making a stand. Sure, Rick Perry want’s to call people traitors and lie about ‘his’ accomplishments as Texas Governor but why not? Everyone else does. He can get the ‘holy rollers’ to back him and the tea party radicals to swing fists and sling mud in the direction of his opponents. Ah… gotta love it.

Political Vacations, First Amendment Rights and the Bid for President: Oh, My!

What can we say? Another day and the drama just gets better. The world economy looks to the USA for an impending and immediate response to the woes of the world and the USA just keeps churning out the same old crap. So let’s get things strait. Obama goes on a vacation when the job report goes up and the rest of the politicians have been on vacation for weeks. Who gets the crap about it? The President because he’s the one in charge. Now that we got that out of the way, the San Francisco BART cellphone shutdown is causing a stink among the people who believe that all things are free. What happened to the days when we had no cellphone and you had to stand on the corner and yell if you wanted someone to hear you or get in the paper and hope someone read the article without a picture. We know things have changed. We know the world is closer together but what in the world are people thinking when they think it is a God given right to be able to use technology. We know we’re getting a bit off subject here and a bit away from the politicians, but the bleeding heart privacy jumpers are crying foul about the right to free speech. Posting threats to Facebook and Twitter that create an environment that can be violent or cause disruption to public services and the public can potentially be a threat. Wait… the last time we were in San Francisco they charged to get on the BART system, and they charged for cellphones… and they don’t always work. The fact that they actually disrupted service intentionally seems like they have a right even though you may have paid to use a “SERVICE” not a “RIGHT”. Figure it out… or do we have to spell it out for you? Oh, that’s right… we just did.
As for the Political vacations – stop bitching that the president went on vacation. We’re sure if someone pushed the atomic button, the president would be woken up and notified. So what he gets to spend some time with his family away from the big white house in Washington D.C., at least maybe he can get a little peace and quiet as he stares at the last bit of summer settling over the Atlantic. It’s not like Rick Perry (Parry thanks to Colbert) bashing the crap out of Obama and claiming unpatriotic and terrorist threats. It sounds like those who claim GOD as defense have the obligation to smear and smudge the reputations and principles of those who may not agree with their particular view. Michelle Bachmann does it (just ask her husband) and now Rick Perry is using the Shield of God to claim sovereign ownership of what they think is right. Okay, many might agree as the hump the neighbors wife and pray on Sunday that no one finds out. It goes even deeper as Politicians, Religious leaders and everyday Americans push the envelope of decency and morality.

We learned a long time ago that it is sometimes best to keep your mouth shut, but when it comes to presidential candidates it seems to be an impossibility. We’ll start with Michelle Bachmann who made a slighted comment about the recent East Coast Earthquake and Hurricane Irene – both of which were a sign from God that Congress should heed the warnings and change the country. Good call Michelle – Every time it rains it means God is taking a leak on our heads and we should repent. We find it bizarre that most politicians not only speak but speak out and about things they think will be helpful for them in winning an election. Sometimes it works, sometimes it backfires. All we know is that the way the country is right now – God should send a plague (like a man-made government introduced epidemic) that wipes out everyone but those who hide below ground like Morlocks until the rapture finally comes.
Then we have Governor Perry who believes that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. Alright, we get it – you don’t like anything run by the government unless it’s your government and all of those people who have collected Social Security for the last… 50 years were really ripped off. Funny thing is that unless our beloved leaders pillage the account it is financially solvent for the next 25 years – long enough for Perry and all of the other GOP candidates to collect – not that they need it – they’re financially fit anyway. So if you believe it is a Ponzi scheme, then don’t get rid of what works, get rid of what is wrong with it – like the millions of millionaires who collect from Social Security because they are old enough to collect. That ought to save enough by itself to fund it for another 10 years at least.
