Come on! You mean you didn’t know the government spied on innocent people and could bring the average person to their knees with the flip of a switch? Since when did you start living in the closet? Privacy advocates and ‘off-the-grid’ martian conspiracy theorists have been touting the lack of privacy that has been going on in the United States and around the world for some time – it’s just now that the media has caught wind of it and in order to bring down big government, it has to be exposed. We’ve seen the FBI reports, CIA investigations, NSA secret dealings and Homeland Security postings about the worst of society trying to bring down the USA that it is common for a little prodding into personal lives. Let’s not forget the Patriot Act (original and extension) that allows – dare we say, gives – permission to invade every aspect of American civil liberty. So what are we complaining about?

Is it becasue some NSA clerk shacked up in Hawaii at a computer terminal decides people should know this is really happening? Or is it becasue Americans have become so tolerant of giving up information that they don’t feel it is an issue compared to the threat of eminent death caused by crazed terrorists both domestic and foreign? How much information do you give up on the internet every day? Your posts to Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Google+ and any of the other hundreds of websites that ask for your personal information in order for you to get what you want…

A report recently by the major credit card companies indicated that by answering three questions on a website (like: your mother’s maiden name and the name of your first pet) they could identify who the person was without asking for a name or address. By using a computer IP address and answering a few simple questions, they had you identified. A more recent study showed that the more personal and obtrusive the question, the more likely people were to answer honestly the other questions as part of the login or application process. So what are you afraid of and what have you been giving away every time you make a digital move?

Are you afraid your phone company will share your information to know what restaurant you went to when you didn’t tell them but you spent and hour and a half at the same location and that your credit card company won’t figure out the bill for $37.23 matched the same location where you spent the time? Come on!! Credit card companies, phone companies, utilities, mail services (including FedEx and UPS), Amazon, Google, Netflix, Hulu and hundreds of other services have been collecting information from you, sharing it with their marketing and research departments, selling it to third-party advertisers and tracking all of your data just to know better how you might spend your money or spend your time. Is it any surprise that the government is doing the same thing to get a better understanding on how you might vote in the next election or if you went to the protest on raising taxes? It is part of life in the modern world. If you don’t think you’re being watched by someone, you’ve buried yourself in the side of a mountain in western Montana and dropped off the radar from society. Sure, you could probably do the same thing on an island in the South Pacific… which actually sounds like more fun if you didn’t have to buy a plane or boat ticket to actually take you to the island…

Privacy is not relevant anymore. If you need your privacy, unplug from the world and head to the most remote location in the world – but don’t buy a ticket.

Of course we reserved a place for ourselves and for your to throw down your own two cents. Banter, bash and do what you must; we’re pretty open minded so if you think you can do this just to offend us… good for you!

We’ve shifted this site design and original topic to include some of the most privately talked about topics known to man. We know wars have been started for less, but it’s important to us to let the rest of the world know that free thought may be offensive, misunderstood and just downright cruel. It is not our intent to start the next war when brother kills brother and mother kills son, we just feel it is important that no matter what side you choose to belong, another side can and will present ideas and suggestions (not always kind) to express an idea and defeat the opponent.

We hope that our forum of expression can be useful and part of a larger culture of discussion on many topics. We will at time-to-time review content to keep things form getting too far against the basic principals of why this site was founded. Remember, no adverting! You can post links to content on other posts or websites that are relevant to the topic, but if we find a link is designed for selling your wares or product, we’ll flog you like a slave-ship first mate!
